For our first blog post, I thought we would share a project bike that is typical of what we are able to do here for our clients. Pictured here is Greg's 2017 Scott Plasma 20 project bike.
Greg originally came to us years ago to get set up on a new road bike to use as he began participating in triathlon. Fast forward to now and many races later, he is ready to step up his game and get a dedicated tri bike.
Wish list includes a fantastic frame, Ultegra Di2 shifting at the base bar and aero bar, and power meter all within a particular price range.
After a Cycling Analysis session, it was determined that the Scott Plasma frame in a size large fits beautifully. The bike, however, does not come with Di2. Power meters are also a typical big ticket add-on.
Solution: order the base Scott Plasma 20 model, order a custom Ultegra Di2 kit and a Quarq D Zero Aluminum power meter and rebuild the bike with these items.
This project came together well within budget and almost $1000 less than some other Di2 equipped bikes alone without a power meter. Win!
The items not used for this bike are a great starter kit to upgrade the older bike from 10 to 11 speed as well. Another win.
By listening to our clients and thinking creatively, we are able to deliver something not just "out of the box".
